Membership in the Vermont Biofuels Association is for those businesses, organizations, farms and individuals who have a stake in the development of a sustainable biofuels sector in Vermont. The VBA is the only organization in the state whose sole purpose is to keep up-to-date on biofuel issues and opportunities, and serve the interests of its diverse membership through biofuels marketing, outreach, referrals, consulting, research and initiating policies favorable to the biofuels sector.
By contributing as a VBA member your organization maintains close contact with a range of services and a vibrant professional network that helps your organization stay competitive, helps your project with access to resources, planning tools and technical assistance, and increases the visibility of your enterprise through strategic marketing and public relations efforts.
While the initial focus has been on creating a statewide market for biodiesel and providing support for commercial fuel suppliers, as well as fuel users and biodiesel producers, the VBA is also very involved in building a favorable environment for the production, sale and use of other biofuels and biofuel feedstocks such as mixed fiber pellets, wood and cellulosic biomass and algae-to-biodiesel technology.
Affordable membership contributions are paid annually and as a Vermont Biofuels Association member you:
- Stay connected to statewide biodiesel and other biofuel developments as they occur
- Benefit from general VBA marketing, education and public relations efforts and enlist direct VBA support to bring free media attention to your new biofuel product rollouts and on-farm energy projects and get help with technical issues and troubleshooting
- Have free use of the VBA logo, now a recognized trademark, to employ in your own marketing programs, signage and advertising
- Influence the developing biofuels industry through increased access to the VBA Board of Directors, staff and the larger Vermont biofuels network
- Receive a free listing on the VBA website as a supplier, service provider, or producer and set up a reciprocal link to your web site
- Influence biofuels legislation in Vermont through the VBA Policy Committee; a non-partisan working group that meets with the Administration leadership, Legislative committee Chairs, local Representatives and other planning groups and policy makers
- Receive member discounts at all VBA hosted trainings, seminars and conferences
Your membership contributions are an essential part of how we pay for our operational costs, including office expenses, travel to Montpelier to lobby for biofuels legislation, printing of educational materials, maintaining the VBA web site, and much more. If you are not already a member, or haven't renewed your annual dues, this is your chance to back the Vermont Biofuels Association so we can continue to provide you with the necessary technical assistance, and the tools to help you succeed in the emerging sustainable biofuels industry.
